The National SCRABBLE® Association was founded in 1978 and is the organisation of North America's 10,000 tournament SCRABBLE players.
The NSA organizes and promotes a number of high-profile SCRABBLE championships, and this web site provides up-to-the-minute live coverage with statistics, commentary and photos when events are in progress. On August 20 – 24, 2004, the National SCRABBLE® Championship (NSC) took place in Reno, NV. Its finals, which were taped for a fall telecast on ESPN, were won three games to two by David Wiegand of Portland, OR, who defeated the reigning World Champion, Panupol Sujjayakorn of Bangkok, Thailand. The next World SCRABBLE® Championship will take place in London, England on November 16–20, 2005.
